Hadfield To Publish Book In Fall
July 3, 2013 – Yesterday Canadian astronaut Chris Hadfield announced that he will be taking on the world of books after conquering Facebook and the Twittersphere earlier this year.
Hadfield will be releasing a book later this year called An Astronaut's Guide to Life on Earth. It will be published by Random House Canada on October 29. Hadfield will also release another book at at unknown date as he has signed a two-book deal with the book publisher.
An Astronaut's Guide to Life on Earth will detail his many years of space training and exploration with the inspiring message of showing "how to make the impossible possible," according to Random House.
"Chris has a delightful capacity to bring home the fascinating details of what it takes to be an astronaut and what it's like to live in microgravity, and then to dig deeper into all the surprising training and lessons learned that help him — and the whole astronaut corps — do the impossible as if it's another day at work," said Anne Collins, publisher of the Knopf Random House Canada Publisher Group in a statement.
While it is uncertain if his book will be a big hit there is a good chance it will be because of how popular Hadfield became through his social media activity while he was on board the International Space Station from December 2012 until May 14. He gained more than one million Twitter followers who clung to every tweet and breathtaking photo he posted, so the odds that his book will be just as successful are in his favour!
